A private Amsterdam Light Festival boat tour gives your group exclusive use of one of our boutique electric boats for a 2-hour journey through Amsterdam. Begin among the historic canals of the UNESCO-listed Canal Belt before continuing onto the official Amsterdam Light Festival route.
With your own captain and boat, the evening is entirely yours to enjoy. Settle in, order drinks, add catering if you wish and experience Amsterdam’s illuminated canals in a relaxed and personal setting.

Our private fleet is fully electric, providing a quiet and comfortable way to cruise through Amsterdam’s canals. The maximum group capacity across the fleet is 36 guests, with exact capacities varying by boat.
Drinks and catering can be arranged to suit your group and occasion. Available options depend on the boat and package selected and can include homemade mulled wine, premium drinks, champagne and catering.

All pets are welcome on our private cruises, however we do ask you to bring something for the pawsenger to sit on.
Our private cruises are perfect for families with kids! We have special life vests for kids so they can cruise with us safely - please do request these in advance when you can.
The pick up and drop off point for majority of our cruises is situated at the dock on Keizersgracht 106, alongside the water. We kindly request that you arrive at the dock 5 minutes prior to the start of your cruise to facilitate smooth experience. If you are cruising on boat Stan Huygens, the standard pick up and drop off is located at Herengracht 128.
It depends. Our shared cruises last between 1.5 and 2 hours. If you book a private tour, you can choose either 2 hours or more.
The Amsterdam Light Festival is one of Europe's most popular winter events, transforming Amsterdam's UNESCO-listed canals into an open-air exhibition of spectacular light installations. During the 15th edition of Amsterdam Light Festival (26 November 2026 - 17 January 2027), internationally renowned artists will present around 20 illuminated artworks that can be experienced throughout the city. While the festival can be explored on foot, many of the installations are designed to be admired from the water, making an Amsterdam Light Festival canal cruise one of the most popular ways to experience the event.
The Light Festival 2025 runs from 26 November 2026 to 17 January 2027. During this period, the city transforms into an open-air gallery of light art installations created by international artists. The lights are illuminated every evening, making it one of Amsterdam’s most magical winter attractions.
Our boats Pure Spirit, Lucy, Schollevaar, Stan Huygens have toilets on board. Our boat Geertje does not. Luckily we have an office located at Keizersgracht 92H (close to the dock) where we have bathrooms!
Yes! All our boats are (partly) covered and heated during the colder months, so you can enjoy Amsterdam’s canals comfortably all year round.
