In Dutch ‘Troost’ means ‘comfort’, and suitingly, the brewery at Westerpark entices you with just that kind of feeling. Not only with the amazing Westerpark that the bar/restaurant is situated in, but also with the food and especially the craft beers the local brewery serve. Started in 2014 the brewery was set up in a former monastery in the Pijp (the Pipe, a neighbourhood in the south of Amsterdam). The logo of the brewery will be no surprise, when you know this background.

At the Westerpark, you can see the full brewery at work. The 4 tanks produce all the craft beer for the 4 Troost breweries around town! Each season, the master brewers produce a variety of tasty beers. In summer, the summer session and a special Cerveza are brewed, and in the colder months the bock beers are being readed for the taps.

Although the beers are being sold troughout most part of the Netherlands, the breweries of Troost are the best places to taste the delicious drinks. Currently there are two dedicated Troost breweries, with a third one opening up in the East part of the city at then end of the year.

Sustainability is a big part of the Troost business, so while you are sipping a beer and relaxing, the restaurant is being powered by the left overs of the brews.

Together with Pure Boats, Troost brings craft beers to the water. Possibilities include a beer tasting and a tour of the brewery, or a bite of some delicious snacks like beef jerky marinated in local craft beers and Dutch bitterballs and (our favourite) sausages made with IPA.
